4 arrested with Tk 5 crore worth of yaba

The Narcotics Control Department has arrested four drug peddlers with Tk 5 crore worth of yaba in the capital. They were arrested from Hatirjheel area around 12:30 am on Friday (March 21). A brand new car was also seized during the operation.
Confirming the matter, Shamim Ahmed, Deputy Director of the Dhaka Metro Office (North) of the Narcotics Control Department, told the media that four drug peddlers were arrested based on a secret tip-off. Among those arrested are three men and one woman. He further said that a total of 160,000 pieces of yaba were recovered from the four arrested persons. The estimated value of the drugs is Tk 5 crore.
The Deputy Director of the Narcotics Control Department said that a press conference will be held at the Dhaka Metro North Office of the Narcotics Control Department at 12 noon on Saturday (March 22) to provide details.
