An additional 10 percent tariff

Trade tensions are intensifying worldwide with the decision of America, China and Canada to impose reciprocal tariffs. US President Donald Trump has announced that a 25 percent tariff will be imposed on Canadian and Mexican goods starting Tuesday. The US President said that the decision will be implemented from March 4 and there is no chance of delaying this order.

In addition, a 10 percent tariff has also been implemented on Chinese goods. Last year, the United States imported a total of 40 percent of goods from these three countries. This may be disrupted after the imposition of additional tariffs this year. Meanwhile, China and Canada have threatened to impose counter-tariffs against the United States. Through this, these three top trading partners of the world are at risk of disrupting trade.

Beijing has said that it will impose a tariff of 15 percent on US goods and up to 25 percent on Canada. China’s new tariff policy will be implemented from March 10. In this, Beijing will impose a tariff of 15/10 percent on goods imported from the United States.

On February 4, Trump announced an additional 10 percent tariff on Chinese goods, which will take effect a month later. In return, China has announced a 10 to 15 percent tariff on US goods. Meanwhile, Canada has announced a tariff of up to 25 percent on about $155 billion worth of goods imported from the US.
