Gas pressure is suddenly decreasing in the afternoon during the current month of Ramadan. Many housewives in the capital, who have been in trouble with gas since the first Ramadan, have been complaining about this. Residents in the capital complain that they have to struggle with gas all year round, and the situation is the same this Ramadan too. When will people organize iftar if gas comes at 6 pm?’ In many areas, gas is reduced before noon, and there is no gas at all by the afternoon. The areas suffering from gas include many areas of Old Dhaka, Rampura, Ulan, Hazaribagh, some parts of Khilgaon, some parts of Mirpur and Uttara, Mohammadpur, Maniknagar, Basabo and most of the surrounding areas.
It is learned that due to the slight heat in early March, household gas is being diverted to the power plant. This is what has caused the problem. Housewives are waiting in the kitchen for a long time but are not cooking. As Ramadan began in March, the temperature has also started rising. Meanwhile, the irrigation season has started from February. As a result, the demand for electricity has increased in March. Overall, the crisis in homes has increased due to the increase in gas supply to power plants. This has caused extreme suffering to the common people who use gas in their homes. On March 2, the first day of Ramadan, 2,856 million cubic feet of gas was supplied across the country. But the demand is more than 4,000 million cubic feet.
Due to the increase in temperature, 86 million cubic feet of gas is currently being supplied more to power plants daily. This has put residential and other sectors in crisis.
