Students and the public have searched the house of former Member of Parliament (MP) of Sirajganj-4 constituency Tanvir Imam. The search began at around 12 midnight on Tuesday (March 4) at the house next to Shahabuddin Park in Gulshan-2. After that, law enforcement agencies including the army arrived there.
It is learned that Tanvir Imam is the son of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s political advisor, the late HT Imam. At around 12 midnight, students and the public tried to enter Tanvir Imam’s house with a procession. At that time, when the house’s security guard stopped them, some students climbed the gate and entered. Later, when the gate was opened, more than a hundred students and the public entered the house and searched.
They searched every room of the flat, searched various luggage, drawers and chests. Md. Shamim said, “I heard that a huge amount of illegal money was hidden in the house, and the students surrounded the house after receiving information.”
