Engineer Md. Riazul Islam has been appointed as the new chairman of the Capital Development Authority (RAJUK). Riazul Islam, who is additionally in charge of the organization’s member (planning), will serve as the chairman for the next two years.

This information was given in a notification signed by Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md. Towhid Bin Hasan on the orders of the President on Saturday (March 8). Riazul Islam will replace the current chairman, Major General (retd.) Siddiqur Rahman.

The notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration said that Engineer Md. Riazul Islam has been given a contractual appointment as the chairman of the Capital Development Authority (RAJUK) for a period of two years from the date of joining on the condition of renouncing any other profession, business or work relationship with government, semi-government, private institution/organization.

Earlier, the government appointed him to the member (planning) branch for a period of two years on October 26 last year. He is also serving as the president of the engineers’ organization IEB. He was appointed as the chairman four months after his contractual appointment.
