A young man named Ahsanul Islam Orchid (32) who was burnt in a fire due to extramarital affairs in Kaliganj, Jhenaidah, has died. He died at around 11 am on Monday (March 10) while undergoing treatment at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College.

Orchid is a resident of the Kanthalbagan area of ​​Kaliganj upazila. The deceased’s father, Osman Gani, has filed a written complaint with the Jessore Kotwali Model, accusing four people in this incident. In addition, three more unknown people have been named as accused.

According to the written complaint, Orchid eloped with Tarin Khatun, the wife of former councilor of ward number 5 of Kaliganj Municipality, about a month ago and married her. However, on Wednesday (March 5) morning, Tarin called Orchid to Jessore, promising to settle the matter near the old Kasba Roypara Battola Mosque in Jessore town. During this time, Rinku and Tarin beat Orchid and injured her and robbed her of Tk 340,000. Then, the three, Rinku, Tarin Khatun and Faisal, nephews of former MP Anar, set Orchid on fire and fled.
