Repair work is underway in workshops in Natore for the Eid journey on unfit buses. These vehicles will be provided with a new look within 20 days. The workers of the workshops are spending this time busy. Conscious passengers have demanded that the concerned authorities stop the movement of unfit vehicles to ensure a safe journey during Eid.
At least 100 passenger buses are being repaired in various workshops in the Harishpur area of Natore suburb. Most of the repaired vehicles are not fit. There are instructions to repair the buses within 20 days to transport passengers from Dhaka, Narayanganj and Gazipur during Eid and deliver them to the owners. Due to the pressure of passengers during Eid, the bus owners want to deliver the buses within 20 days.
About one lakh people come to Natore from different districts to celebrate Eid. To make the journey of people coming to Natore safe during Eid, bus owners have been instructed not to run unfit buses. If a bus without fitness is found at the checkpost, it will be seized. BRTA will conduct a campaign starting 15 days before Eid for 1 month.
