Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has expressed deep sorrow over the death of child Asia of Magura, a victim of brutal rape. He has also proposed to observe the day (March 13) as ‘Asia Day’.
In a statement on Thursday (March 13), he said, Asia, a victim of barbaric torture in Magura, became a tragic witness to history and left the whole of Bangladesh in tears at around 1 pm on Thursday (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). May Allah Ta’ala accept her as a very dear one, Amin. I pray to the Almighty that he may grant the conscience of the countrymen, including Asia’s parents, the ability to bear this grief, regardless of their own.
Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, ‘Asia Day’ can be observed on March 13. The main objective of which will be to increase awareness among people about the protection of children. Through this, a society must be built where all people, regardless of children, women and men, will be safe. He further said, “I demand the harshest and highest punishment for the animals called humans who extinguished the light of this innocent child’s life while fulfilling their brutal desires. This punishment for the rapists must be implemented within a maximum of 90 days. Such a punishment must be implemented that will be an example for generations to come.”
