Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres have participated in the Iftar celebration with lakhs of Rohingyas in Ukhiya camp in Cox’s Bazar. They joined the Iftar on Friday (March 14) afternoon. Meanwhile, Rohingyas started entering the Demo Hill of Camp-20, the site of the Iftar, from 10 am.
Earlier, this afternoon, Chief Adviser to the Interim Government Muhammad Yunus and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres arrived in Cox’s Bazar from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by Bangladesh Biman Airlines. They were welcomed there by Advisor to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Farooq-e-Azam.
It is learned that the UN Secretary-General has various programs in the Rohingya camp until the evening. He has already participated in discussions with Rohingya students and the community there on the quality of life. Antonio Guterres visited Bangladesh for the second time after a long seven years on Thursday (March 13) afternoon. He was welcomed at the airport by Towhid Hossain, the foreign affairs advisor to the interim government.
