UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has left Dhaka after a four-day visit. He left Shahjalal International Airport at 9:55 am on Sunday (March 16), the Office of the Principal Advisor said.
A message said that Guterres was seen off at the airport by Environment Advisor Rizwana Hassan and the Principal Advisor’s High Representative on the Rohingya Crisis Khalilur Rahman. In addition, before leaving Dhaka, the UN Secretary-General had a farewell conversation with Principal Advisor Muhammad Yunus over the phone.
Antonio Guterres arrived in Dhaka on a four-day official visit last Thursday. He had an iftar with the Rohingya in Cox’s Bazar on Friday. Guterres inaugurated the new UN building in Gulshan on Saturday morning. In the afternoon, he held a meeting with the Consensus Commission and later with representatives of civil society. In the afternoon, he came to a joint press conference with the Foreign Affairs Advisor. Then, the UN Secretary-General concluded his program in Dhaka by participating in an iftar and dinner.
