RAB has announced the arrest of a young man named Md. Hasan alias Pandi Hasan (26) in a case filed in the capital’s Hatirjheel, Rampura and Khilgaon areas on charges of extortion. RAB says that Hasan was arrested in a drive in the capital’s Hatirjheel police station area on Monday evening. He is the main associate of notorious top terrorist Mohammad Ibrahim Khan Tushar alias Bhagne Tushar.

RAB-3 sent a press release on Monday midnight informing about Hasan’s arrest. It said that the people of Hatirjheel, Rampura and Khilgaon areas were upset and terrified due to the extortion of Bhagne Tushar’s associates. A case was filed against Hasan at Hatirjheel police station on charges of extortion on January 21.

The press release said that based on information received from intelligence sources, a special operation team of RAB-3 arrested Hasan from the Hatirjheel police station area yesterday evening. Hasan was previously hiding in different areas of the capital. RAB said in a press release that there are two more cases of extortion against Hasan. According to the press release, Hasan’s house is in Bhola Sadar Upazila.

A RAB press release said that his nephew Tushar was arrested on February 23. His main associate Hasan was involved in terrorist activities including extortion in Hatirjheel, Rampura, and Khilgaon areas.
