Purchase of rice bran oil and lentils for TCB

The government will purchase 11 million liters of refined rice bran oil and 10,000 metric tons of lentils for the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) through a local open tender process. The total cost of this will be Tk 272.98 crore. The proposal in this regard was approved at a meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Government Procurement held at the conference room of the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat on Tuesday afternoon under the chairmanship of Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed.
According to the meeting sources, the government has approved the proposal to purchase 11 million liters of refined rice bran oil for the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) through a local open tender (national) process (OTM) on the proposal of the Commerce Ministry. The recommended bidders are Green Oil and Poultry Feed Industries, Majumdar Products Limited and Majumdar Bran Oil Mills Limited. The price of rice bran oil per liter has been estimated at 162.50 taka. Accordingly, the cost of purchasing 11 million liters of oil will be 178.75 crore taka.
