GK Shamim sentenced to 5 years in prison in ACC case

Ghulam Kibria Shamim alias GK Shamim was sentenced to six months’ rigorous imprisonment in the case of illegal and known income assets. Rabiul Alam announced the verdict. The court acquitted GK Shamim’s mother Ayesha Akhter in the case.
Judge GK Shamim has fined Tk one lakh in addition to imprisonment and sentenced to three more months in jail. In addition, GK Shamim also ordered the seizure of illegal assets worth Tk.
Earlier on February 7, the case was set for the verdict. However, GK Shamim’s lawyer, Shahinur Islam, appealed to the investigating officer of the case. The court at that time rescheduled the case again to testify by lifting the verdict. After the reconciliation, the judge fixed today for the verdict.
According to the documents, on October 23, the Deputy Director of the ACC’s District Office-1 on the charge of acquiring illegal assets of GK Shamim and his mother Ayesha Akhter. Salahuddin filed the case.
