According to the decision of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, tourists are being banned from tomorrow (Saturday 7th February) to St. Martin. The ban will continue till October 1 this year.

Every year, from April 1 to September 7, there is a government ban on tourists in St. Martin for 6 months. However, this year, the interim government has increased the ban for another three months. As a result, the tourism sanctions start from February 1 and it will continue till October 1, which is higher than the deadline from April 1 to September 7.

Earlier, the interim government’s advisory council decided to limit tourists for four months in the coral island of St. Martin. Then the Deputy Press Secretary of the chief adviser said that no tourist will be able to go to St. Martin in February and at this time cleanliness will be done on the island.

People associated with the tourism business say that tourists travel to the island from October 1 to March 7 every year, but the time has been fixed from January 1 this year. They claim that the travel deadline should be extended until February 25.

MA Abdur Rahim Jihadi, president of the St. Mortin Hotel-Motel-Resort Owners Association, said, “Such crisis has never been created before. Now if the tourist is stopped on the island, the residents will be in crisis. Hundreds of people on the island are associated with the tourism business, so I demand the open the island until February 26, considering the humanitarian aspects. ”

In this regard, Mojibur Rahman, chairman of the St. Martin Union Parishad, said, “The livelihood of 5,000 people on the island depends on tourism. They run the family throughout the year by doing business during the tourist season. If the ship was operated until February, the residents would have benefited. ”

Referring to the extension of the travel deadline, Additional District Magistrate Imran Hossain of Cox’s Bazar said, “St. Martin’s vessels will be able to operate till January 5. After that, the tourist vessel will no longer be allowed to operate in St. Martin. If the government extends the travel time, action will be taken according to the directive. ”

In addition, the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change has also issued a number of restrictions in addition to reduce tourists. Tourists were banned in St. Martin’s night in November, and in December and January, 2,000 tourists were allowed to travel and night. However, entire travel has been banned since February.
