Masked miscreants opened fire on the office premises from outside the boundary wall of the Kushtia Water Development Board (PUBO) office. The incident took place on Sunday (February 2) around 2pm. The panic among the officers and employees is prevalent.

On receiving the news, some teams, including senior police officers, visited the scene.

Kushtia Model Police Station Officer -in -Charge (OC) Shihabur Rahman and Executive Engineer of Kushtia Water Development Board Rashidur Rahman confirmed the matter.

It is learned that the activist conference of the ‘Bangladesh Water Development Board Nationalist Workers-Employees Union’ was underway at the Kushtia Water Development Board Office premises. Around 2pm, the masked miscreants opened fire on the office premises from outside the boundary wall. Behind the boundary wall, the miscreants came from the Gorai river and fled again through the Oedik. Officers and employees were terrified of this.

President of Bangladesh Water Development Board Nationalist Workers-Employees Union Manjurul Islam Manju said, “During our program, firing took place.” In this we are terrified. I demand punishment for those involved in the incident.

Rashidur Rahman, executive engineer of the Water Development Board, said that around 2pm, the miscreants fired at the water development board office premises around 2pm. We cannot imagine who or who caused the incident. I do not even know why this happened. However, he demanded punishment for those involved in the incident.

Officer -in -charge of Kushtia Model Police Station (OC) Shihabur Rahman said the shootings took place at noon. We’ve visited the venue. The matter is being investigated. Some of the police teams are working. Legal action will be taken against those involved.
