Vatican leaders meet with Yunus
After the funeral of Pope Francis, the chief adviser to Bangladesh in Rome Dr. Muhammad Yunus met two Vatican’s top cardinal. They expressed deep gratitude to Professor Yunus’s contribution to poverty alleviation and social justice.
Cardinal Sylvano Maria met Tomasi and Cardinal Jacob Kuwad Yunus after the Pope funeral in Rome on Saturday. The two cardinal professors referred to Yunus as a close friend of Pope Francis and praised his lifetime struggle for poverty alleviation.
Professor Yunus said, “Pope Francis was an extraordinary man. He used to adopt everyone irrespective of religion.”
In the meeting, Cardinal Tomassi described the travel experience in Southeast Asia and emphasized the protection of peace and stability in the region.
