Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin said, “We are the Commission who is in the commission not want to get into politics. I do not want to stand against or against any political party. We want to be neutral. ‘
He said this while addressing the annual general meeting and award distribution of the Reporters Forum for Election and Democracy (RFED) at the Election Building in Agargaon in the capital on Sunday.
Referring to the political influence on the Election Commission, Nasir Uddin said, “The Election Commission gives so much reputation so much, why is this? You can tell the 5 reasons, you can tell the 20 reasons. But to me the number one reason is the ‘Political Control of the Election Commission’. This is the biggest reason to me. ‘
He said that it was the biggest reason for surrender to the Election Commission to politics.
CEC also said, “If the influence of politicians (influence on the Election Commission) cannot be stopped, I think that old thing will be repeated.”
