5 murders, 9 rapes in January in Khulna

In January, five murders were reported in Khulna district and metropolis. The information was given at a meeting of the Khulna District Law Enforcement Committee held at the Khulna Deputy Commissioner’s Conference on Sunday (February 7th). Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam presided over the meeting.

At the meeting, Additional District Magistrate Dipankar Das highlighted the law and order situation of Khulna district and metropolis last month. In January, in Khulna district, there were a total of 5 cases including Rahajani one, theft 3, murder 1, rape 1, women and children abuse 2, 3 on drugs and 3 others, which are less than last month.

On the other hand, in the metropolis, there are two cases of robbery 2, theft 1, murder 2, 3 in the weapons Act, fast trial 1, rape 1, kidnapping 2, 3 women and child abuse, 3 on drugs and 3 others, which are more than last month.

At the meeting, Superintendent of Police TM Mosharraf Hossain said at the meeting that the three killings that took place in the jurisdiction of the Khulna district police last month have been appearing for family reasons. In all cases the accused are arrested. Citizen awareness is essential with the police operation to stop the expansion of online gambling. Keeping the law and order situation normal is now the first priority for the police. We are working towards that goal.

Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Moha. Ahsan Habib said the supervision of the Metropolitan Police was being increased to control crime under the changing circumstances. Recently, regular operations against drugs have been underway and a large number of drugs have been seized. Regular patrol activities have been strengthened to curb crime.
