Young man beaten with a machete in public

Police have arrested two people in connection with the incident of beating a young man with a machete in Muradpur area of Chittagong city. A machete was recovered from them at that time. They were arrested from Hillview Rahman Nagar area of the city on Thursday evening. They are Md. Julhas (19) and Md. Shahin Alam (19). Both are residents of Bayezid area of the city.
Earlier, on Wednesday night, a young man named Md. Akash (22) was hacked to death in front of Aziz Market in the city’s Muradpur Atura Depot area. He is an employee of Hazari Bastra Bitan in Aziz Market.
CCTV footage of the incident shows that Julhas and Shaheen together grabbed Akash and brought him aside. Later, they beat him with a chapati. Several shopkeepers and local residents gathered there after Akash screamed, but no one came forward out of fear. Later, when Julhas and Shaheen came out of the alley, they rescued Akash.
