Abu Sayeed Mandal alias Sayeed (35), the top terrorist of the Padma Char area of Daulatpur, Kushtia, and the accused in the murder case, has been arrested from Dhaka. It is learnt that a team of Dhaka Detective Branch (DB) and Daulatpur police of Kushtia conducted a raid from the Ramna police station area of the capital on Sunday (February 23) morning and arrested him.
The arrested Sayeed is the son of Bhadu Mandal of Bairagi Char South Bhangapara area of Marichi Union of the upazila. Sayeed was the main accused in the case filed in which a young man named Raju Hossain (18) was shot dead by a group of men who were summoned from his house around 12:30 am on February 11, focusing on controlling the sand ghat and drug trade.
