Nixon banned from leaving the country

The court has banned the departure of former MP from Faridpur-4 constituency Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury alias Nixon Chowdhury and his wife Tarin Hossain. Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Ghalib issued this order on Monday (February 24). The investigation officer of the case, Assistant Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Muhammad Shihab Salam, applied to the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court seeking a ban on their departure. The judge issued this order after the hearing.
The application states that Nixon Chowdhury and Tarin Hossain are trying to secretly leave the country. It has been seen that if they leave the country while the investigation work is ongoing, there is a risk that the overall investigation will be disrupted. Therefore, it is necessary to cancel their travel abroad so that they cannot leave the country while the investigation work is ongoing. Earlier, the same court had issued an order banning them from leaving the country on October 23.
