On Sunday night, miscreants shot and robbed a gold merchant in Banasree of 200 gold bars and 1 lakh taka. The residents of the capital spent the night in extreme fear and anxiety. Last Sunday, around 8:30 pm, a group of 10-12 people practiced with country-made weapons in Dhanmondi. Two hours later, around 10:30 pm, miscreants shot and robbed a gold merchant named Anwar Hossain in Banasree of 200 gold bars and 1 lakh taka.
The video of the robbery went viral on social media after the incident. The residents of the capital were horrified to see such an incident in public. Netizens are questioning the security of the capital in this incident. Students protested at Dhaka University at night demanding the resignation of the Home Affairs Advisor, alleging that the law and order situation has deteriorated drastically across the country. In response to the students’ demands, Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury held a press conference at his house around 3 am.
In the viral robbery video, a total of seven men on three motorcycles surrounded businessman Anwar Hossain in front of house number 20 on Road No. 7, D Block, Banasree. After throwing the businessman on the road in front of the gate of a house, one of them snatched a bag from him.
Not only the robbery, women are worried about the increase in rape of women. It has been alleged that no initiative has been taken by the Home Ministry or the Law Ministry. What do you say about this? In response to a question, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, there is no reason for mothers and sisters to fear. We are always concerned about them and we are vigilant to ensure that they do not get into any trouble. The law enforcement agencies are also vigilant.
