What Nahid wrote in his resignation letter

Md. Nahid Islam has resigned from the post of advisor to the interim government. He went to the state guest house Jamuna after noon on Tuesday and submitted his resignation to the chief advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus. Later, he left Jamuna in a car without a flag. According to sources in the chief advisor’s office, he wrote in his resignation letter that in the current context, he believes that he should be present among the students and the public in the larger interest of the country and the nation.

In his resignation letter to the chief advisor, Nahid Islam wrote, ‘Please accept my respectful greetings. First of all, I respectfully remember the martyrs and injured comrades in the July mass uprising. I am extremely grateful to you for responding to the call of the students and the public and taking on the responsibility of building a new Bangladesh after the bloody mass uprising. I express my sincere gratitude to you for giving me the opportunity to be part of the Advisory Council formed under your leadership to build a developed Bangladesh free from discrimination, hunger and poverty.’

Nahid Islam also wrote, ‘In the Advisory Council sworn in on August 8, I am responsible for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Despite various challenges, I have always strived to fulfill my duties under your leadership. But in the current context, I feel that I should be present among the students and the public in the larger interest of the country and the nation. As a result, I consider it appropriate to resign from my duties. For this, I am seeking relief from the posts of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. I humbly request you to accept my resignation.’
