Robbery on school tour bus

A school tour bus was robbed in Ghatail, Tangail. Three buses of the Ban Bhojan were robbed in the Malirchala area of the Ghatail-Sagardighi regional road of the upazila on Monday night. Eyewitnesses said that the robbery took place by cutting down trees from the roadside and throwing them on the road. The bus was carrying students, guardians and teachers from Swaipur High School in Fulbaria upazila of Mymensingh on an educational tour.
Obaidul Islam Rubel, a teacher at the school, said that they left for Natore on Monday night along with students, guardians and teachers from Swaipur High School in Fulbaria. When they reached Malirchala area after crossing the Sagardighi market at around 3 am, 15-20 members of the robbers blocked the movement of the three buses of the Ban Bhojan by throwing trees on the road. They got into the car and took everything including mobile phones, money and gold ornaments. At that time, the robbers attacked the school’s lab assistant named Robin.
Later, the robbers, sensing the presence of the police, fled to the nearby Gazari forest.
