The three-day Falguni Fair has started at the Urdighi High School grounds in Karimganj Upazila of Kishoreganj. Traders are setting up stalls with various services and offers at 395 stalls in the fair, which started on Tuesday, February 25.

Buyers can visit the fair without a ticket every day from morning to late night. There are cultural programs at night in the fair premises. Abu Sayeed Bhuiyan, an executive member of the Urdighi (Morichkhali) Market Merchant and Landlord Association of Karimganj Upazila, said, “People here wait for this fair all year round. Thousands of people even gather from different parts of the country. This fair has all the traditions of a rural fair.

However, one of the main attractions of this fair is furniture. In addition, there are stalls of handicrafts, household food and handmade clothes, children’s aesthetic clothes, girls’ accessories, three-piece, two-piece, pottery and other products. Urdighi Falguni Mela Celebration Committee President Abu Saeed Khan Shafi said, “With the cooperation of the administration, adequate security arrangements have been made at the fair. We are vigilant to ensure that the Dashanarthi and shopkeepers do not face any inconvenience. More than a hundred volunteers are working in shifts to keep the fair safe,” he said.

This fair starts on the 13th of the month of Falgun every year. The fair will continue till February 28.
