A century-old mosque built of red-black brickwork on white. The mosque with five arches and three domes on large pillars is like a work of art. The walls of the mosque on the arches are decorated with vines, leaves and flower motifs, the craftsmanship of old rural Bengal. This mosque of a wonderful style is located in a quiet village. There are fields of crops and birds chirping all around. Passers-by walking along the village path have to stop in front of the mosque at least once. There is no way not to be fascinated by its architectural style.

This mosque is located in Purba Mithanala village, about 4 kilometers from the Mirsarai Upazila headquarters of Chittagong. A century-old mosque established in the middle of the village. The mosque was established in 1916 by Haji Golam Sultan for the convenience of offering prayers. According to his name, the mosque is known as Haji Golam Sultan Jame Masjid.

Although the initial structure of the mosque was established in 1916, the mosque was built in Burmese architectural style by bringing craftsmen from Myanmar in 1920. The mosque is built on an area of ​​about one bigha. The mosque with three domes and a beautiful minaret is visible from afar. Ghulam Sultan did not end his duties by just building the mosque. To cover the operating expenses of the mosque, he donated more than 12 acres of agricultural land in the name of the mosque. However, regrettably, much of the old craftsmanship of the mosque has been lost during several rounds of renovations. The mosque premises are now lively during major religious festivals including Eid prayers. People from far and wide come to see it now because of the beauty of the mosque.
