Advance sale of bus seat tickets will start on March 14 to facilitate the travel of people heading home for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. A total of 7-day tickets will be sold in advance from March 25 before Eid. This decision was made at the Eid preparatory meeting of the Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners Association on Thursday (March 6).

In this regard, the association’s acting general secretary Subhankar Ghosh Rakesh said that the bus owners have decided to sell advance tickets from March 14. On this day, passengers will get bus tickets online and from the counter simultaneously. However, many transport companies will issue tickets completely online this time. As a result, passengers will get tickets at two places.

Regarding the collection of additional fares, he said that the bus fare will be charged as per the fare fixed by BRTA. No additional fares can be charged outside the fare list. All owners have been given that instruction.

When asked about what additional preparations are being made for this Eid to ensure safe travel, Rakesh said that buses will run as before during Eid. However, the administration should pay attention to the places where people exit Dhaka so that they do not get stuck in traffic jams. Moreover, during Eid, our owners’ association’s monitoring team will be at the terminal, they will work. A plan is being made to videotape the night coaches for security reasons and then release the vehicles.
