Mahmudpur UP Chairman of Dohar Upazila and Mahmudpur Union Awami League President, heroic freedom fighter Md. Ayub Ali has been arrested by Dohar Police Station. Later, as he was on bail in a political case of that police station, he was arrested as an unknown accused in another case of Nawabganj Police Station.

On Friday (March 14), Dohar Police Station arrested him from Kartik Bazar area of ​​Dohar on Friday afternoon. Family sources said that UP Chairman Ayub Ali is a heroic freedom fighter. He is (75). A case was filed in Dohar Police Station on August 25 last year regarding the attack on students during the anti-discrimination student movement. When he was named as an accused in that case, he took bail from the court on February 24. Since then, he has been staying in Dhaka.

Two days ago, he came to his home in Char Hossainpur, Mahmudpur, Dohar. On Friday afternoon, when he went towards the market, he was arrested by Mahmudpur Police Station SI Zubaidul Haque and taken to Dohar Police Station. Later, when he showed the bail papers of the court in the case of that police station, he was sent to Nawabganj. UP Chairman Ayub Ali’s daughter-in-law Akhti Akhter said that her father-in-law is sick. He is a freedom fighter. His name is not in any case in Nawabganj. Even then, the police arrested him for harassing him during the month of independence. We want justice for the family of a freedom fighter.

Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police of Dohar Circle Ashraful Alam said in this regard that he does not know anything. He may have been arrested because of his involvement in some incident. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nawabganj Police Station Mominul Islam said that he has been arrested as an unknown accused in the case filed in connection with the attack on the anti-discrimination student movement in Nawabganj.
