Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Commissioner Dr. Nazmul Karim Khan said the battery -powered autorickshaw will not be allowed to rise on the highway.
The auto -rickshaws will be located on the feeder road from the highway and the passengers will fly 5 meters away from the highway. For this reason, he also sought the cooperation of the auto -rickshaw drivers and passengers. The GMP Commissioner said this at a press briefing at Chandana Chowrasta on Thursday (March 27) at around 8pm.
He also said that if the autorickshaw highway goes up, legal action, including dumping, will be taken against him. On the occasion of Eid, legal action will be taken against him if the bus fares are high.
Nazmul Karim Khan said many people have lost their jobs and have come to work. Legal action will also be taken against those who are leaving them. Senior officials of Gazipur Metropolitan Police were present.
