Tempo drivers have blocked roads in Chittagong to protest against harassment by filing no-parking cases against tempo drivers. Tempo drivers have been protesting on the city’s important Muradpur Road since Saturday (March 8) morning. This has created a heavy traffic jam on this important road. Rows of vehicles are stuck in the traffic jam. As a result, passengers plying on this road are facing extreme hardship.
Tempo drivers allege that there is no parking station in the city to park their tempos. As a result, if they park their tempos on the city roads, the traffic police impose a large fine on them by filing no-parking cases, which the tempo drivers cannot afford to pay. They also said that they will not move from the road until they get assurance from the administration to stop this harassment by the police.
Meanwhile, heavy traffic jam has been created on this important road of the city due to the closure of traffic on this important road of the city. Police officials are trying to convince them to remove the transport workers from the road.
