In Sharsha, Jessore, an allegation has been made against Upazila BNP Vice President and former Chairman of Kaiba Union Parishad Ruhul Quddus and his brother Ibadul Islam Kalu for looting 155 sacks of rice under the food-friendly program. In this incident, Jessore District BNP suspended Ruhul Quddus’ post on Wednesday night (February 5).

Yesterday, Wednesday afternoon, Shahjahan Kabir, a rice dealer of Kaiba 1, 2 and 3 wards, filed a complaint against Ruhul Quddus and his brother Ibadul Islam Kalu. He said that on Wednesday morning, rice was loaded from Bag-Anchra food warehouse and sent to his dealer point. When Bag-Anchra reached Bakultala on the way, Sharsha Upazila BNP Vice President and former Chairman Rahul Quddus, who was already lying in wait, stopped a trolley and took the driver hostage. At that time, he took 155 sacks of rice to his godown. Later, when he called Kuddus to inquire about this, he abused him and threatened him. After receiving the news, newsmen went to the house of Kuddus Chairman in Bakultala and saw that the trolley loaded with rice had been stopped.

Meanwhile, the Jessore District BNP has suspended Ruhul Kuddus’ party post after allegations of rice looting were raised. This information was given in a press release signed by District BNP General Secretary Delwar Hossain Khokon.
