A 6-year-old child has been accused of being raped in Narsingdi. The incident took place in Bilasdi Mohalla of Narsingdi Municipality on Thursday (March 20) afternoon. Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Emdadul Haque confirmed this information on Friday morning.

Police and locals said that a 6-year-old child was playing on the street on Thursday afternoon. At that time, Kamal Mia (55), the son-in-law of the daughter of the deceased Shamsu Mia, a tenant of Bilasdi Mohalla, forcibly picked up the child from the street and took him to an abandoned building and raped him. Later, after the child went home and narrated the incident, the police were informed. Then Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Emdadul Haque went to the spot with the help of the police. The victim rescued the child and recorded his statement. The child was admitted to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for treatment.

Narsingdi Sadar Police Station OC Emdadul Haque said that the victim of the child rape incident in Bilasdi Mohalla has been rescued and admitted to Sadar Hospital for treatment. A regular case is under process of filing in this incident. It has not been possible to arrest the accused as he is absconding. However, he said that the police operation is continuing to arrest him.
