The Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges has directed to stop the movement of trucks, covered vans and lorries on the highways for a total of 6 days before and after Eid to ensure a safe and smooth Eid journey. This information was given in a recent notification by the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges.
It said that on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr celebration, a meeting was held at Bidyut Bhaban on March 9 under the chairmanship of the Advisor of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges to ensure the safe and smooth travel of passengers on roads, highways, bridges and railways.
The notification, highlighting the decision of the meeting, said that on the occasion of Eid, trucks, covered vans and lorries will be stopped on the highways from March 25 to 28 and for 3 days after Eid. However, vehicles carrying daily essential food items, perishable goods, garments, medicines, fertilizers and fuel will be exempted from this.
