A young man named Selim (35) was hacked to death in a dispute with drug dealers in Pallabi, Mirpur, in the capital. The family claims that local drug dealers are involved in the murder.
Selim was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 7:30 pm on Friday, where doctors declared him dead. The deceased Selim lived with his wife and one child in Bihari Camp Wapda Colony Building, Pallabi, Mirpur 11.
It is learned that Selim was hacked to death in a field next to Wapda Building immediately after Iftar due to enmity. He was later rescued from there and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he died. At the hospital, the deceased’s relatives Ashikur Rahman and Aunt Yasmin claimed that local drug dealers hacked Selim to death due to enmity.
Dhaka Medical Police Camp In-charge Inspector Md. Faruk said the body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy. Pallabi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nazrul Islam said the young man was hacked to death. Further legal action is under process in this regard.
