The main church of Eid al -Fitr will be held in Sylhet at 7.30am in the city’s Shahi Eidgah Maidan. Kamran Ahmed Kamal, general secretary of the field management committee on Saturday afternoon, said, “Maulana Moshtaq Ahmed Khan, the Khatib of the Jama Masjid of the city’s Bandar Bazar, will present the prayer before the prayers and Imam Maulana Kamal Uddin Ahmed of the same mosque will.”

He said, “Eidgah Maidan has been prepared on the occasion of the main Eid church.” In addition, three Eid churches will be held at Kudrat Ullah Jama Masjid in the city’s port, the general secretary of the mosque committee, Muktabis Un Noor. He said that the first church will be held at 7.30am, the second church at 7:30 am and the third church at 7:30 am. The Imam of the mosque and Khatib Saeed bin Nuruzzaman Al Madani will be the Imam of the mosque in the first church.

Maulana Miftah Uddin Ahmed will be the Imam in the second church and Maulana Hossain Ahmed will do the third Jamaat. In addition, the Eid -ul -Fitr Jamaat will be held at 8am in the Sylhet Government Alia Madrasa grounds at the initiative of the Quran, said Sylhet president Maulana Syed Muhammad Ekramul Haque.
