The entrance ceremony of the new students of the undergraduate (honors) class of the 2023-24 academic year (53 batches) was held at Jahangirnagar University (JU). Today, Wednesday (February 26), at 11:30 am, the ceremony was held at the Zahir Raihan Auditorium of the university under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan. The chief guest was University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor Dr. S. M. A. Faiz.

The university administration welcomed the new students with flowers at the ceremony. About two thousand new students from various faculties participated in the ceremony. Finally, the oath of office was administered to the new students by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan.

Speaking as the chief guest at the event, UGC Chairman Professor Dr. S. M. A. Fayez said to the new students, “You are fortunate to have been admitted to Jahangirnagar University through an intensely competitive and difficult admission test. ” The special guests on the occasion included Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Sohel Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rab and others.
