Extortion is Awami League’s politics, not BNP’s

BNP’s Central Information and Research Affairs Deputy Editor and Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Secretary General Quader Gani Chowdhury said, “Extortion is the work of Awami League, not BNP. Those within the party who are doing bad things and not following discipline are against Ziaur Rahman’s ideology. They cannot claim to be people of Zia’s ideology.”
He said these things at a view-exchange meeting with local BNP leaders and activists in Fatikchhari, Chittagong on Tuesday night.
Quader Gani Chowdhury said, “We have reached a beautiful time after fighting for the last 17 years. Although we do not have voting rights for the time being, at least now we are not afraid of disappearances and murders. We are doing well in this regard. We must be careful that this beautiful time, achieved through the sacrifices of thousands of leaders and activists before the July Revolution, is not destroyed due to our mistakes or excesses.’
Upazila BNP member secretary Zahir Azam Chowdhury, Shawkat Ullah and others spoke at the view-sharing meeting held under the chairmanship of Upazila BNP leader Sarwar Hossain.
