A youth named Mohammad Kachim Ali (42) was killed in Maheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar. The incident took place at around 8:30 pm on Wednesday in the Kamita Para Manchorapara area of ​​Kutubjom Union. The deceased was the son of Nurul Alam of the area.

The family and police of the deceased said that in the morning, Kachim Ali’s uncle and Gafur Mia, a resident of the same area, were quarreling with a man named Abu Tayyab about the supply of workers to the fishing trawler. At that time, Kachim Ali forbade the two men to quarrel. Shakib Khan, son of Gafur Mia, attacked the house of Kachim Ali. At one point, Kachim Ali was injured with a sharp weapon in front of the settlement. He was rescued and taken to the emergency department of Maheshkhali Upazila Health Complex.

Mohammad Sheikh Kamal, chairman of the local Kutubjom Union Parishad, said that Kachim Ali was murdered at the hands of his cousin in the focus of the trivial incident. He said that the deceased Kachim Ali was jailed by profession. Shakib Khan and his family were absconding since the incident. Their cellphones were also found off. Therefore, it was not possible to comment on the allegations. Inspector (Investigation) of the Maheshkhali Police Station, Kumar Shil said that preparations are underway to recover the body and send it to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue. The accused Shakib Khan is absconding. An attempt is underway to arrest him.
