Bangladesh started the tournament with a 6-wicket defeat against India in the first match of the Champions Trophy. However, despite the team’s defeat, Towhid Hridoy scored a brilliant century. His impeccable batting, despite his injury, has impressed cricket fans.
This was Hridoy’s first international century in ODIs. Bangladesh’s batting innings started badly. The team lost 5 wickets for just 35 runs. In such a situation, Hridoy added 154 runs for the sixth wicket with Zaker Ali. Which is the highest partnership for the sixth wicket in the history of the Champions Trophy. This partnership basically gave Bangladesh a collection to fight for.
He suffered a heart attack on the way to his century. He had a cramp in his leg, but he continued to bat. Regarding his injury, he said, Alhamdulillah, I am fine. But my cramp has been a problem. If I had been fit, I could have added 20-30 more runs.
Bangladesh’s next match in the group stage is against New Zealand on February 24. The Tigers will take on Pakistan on February 27. Both matches will be held in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
