India wants to occupy Kashmir

Half a century ago, New Delhi revoked Article 370 of the Indian Constitution and imposed full state authority on Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian central government now aims to take control of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir as well. This was stated by the country’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar in an interview with Chatham House, a British international relations think tank, on Wednesday (March 5).
In response to a question on the Kashmir issue in the interview, the Indian Foreign Minister said, “We are moving forward step by step on this issue and I think we have already sorted it out to a large extent. In the first phase, we revoked Article 370 (of the Constitution), in the second phase, we focused on accelerating the development and economic activities of Jammu and Kashmir and establishing social justice, in the third phase, we held assembly elections there and a large number of voters voted in those elections.
He said, “Now we have the fourth phase ahead of us. In this phase, our aim is to recover the stolen part of Jammu and Kashmir.”
