An elderly father was seriously injured in the attack on his children in connection with land dispute in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj. The incident took place on Sunday (April 23) at the village of Asharichar in Pirojpur union of the upazila.

The injured person is Abdur Rahim (5). He is currently undergoing treatment at Sonargaon Upazila Health Complex.

According to local sources, his children with Abdur Rahim had been in a long -standing dispute over family land. On the day of the incident, his son Zahirul Islam, Saiful Islam and daughter Halima Akhter attacked the elderly father on the street in front of the house. They kicked Abdur Rahim and threw it to the ground and beat him up.

When the locals came forward, the attackers fled. Abdur Rahim was later rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

Meanwhile, videos and photos of the incident have been spread on social media. Netizens have demanded the arrest and exemplary punishment of the attackers. Many commented on the old father condemning such inhuman behavior.

Sonargaon Police Station Officer -in -Charge (OC) Mofizur Rahman said, “I have been aware of the incident. The attack was reported in the wake of land dispute. No written complaint has been received yet. If the complaint is received, the investigation will be taken and necessary action will be taken.

Locals claim that such a brutal attack on the father in the hands of the child has raised a storm of condemnation all over the area. They demanded speedy trial and exemplary punishment.
