On Sunday (January 26) afternoon, the annual sports competition and award distribution ceremony took place at Lakshmipur Collegiate High School.

The chief guest at the event was BNP’s joint secretary and former Member of Parliament for Lakshmipur-03, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie. The program was presided over by Mahbub Alam Mamun, the president of the school’s management committee, and attended by former headmaster Abdul Kader, Mohammad Didar Hossain, the education officer of Sadar Upazila, BNP leaders Zahir Uddin Faruk, Jamir Uddin Chowdhury Sanju, management committee member Saifuddin Chowdhury Manju, district volunteer party general secretary Harunur Rashid, assistant secretary of the farmers’ party Badarul Islam Shyamol, deputy president of the student wing Abdullah Al Khaled, and government college student party coordinator Hasibur Rahman Abhi along with member secretary Mainul Hasan Shawon.

During this time, Chief Guest Annie said that those in government must have the mindset to listen. If they don’t listen, if they don’t grasp the situation, and if there’s a counter against BNP’s general secretary, that’s simply not right. This could lead to another crisis for the nation. Because this debate could create an opportunity for fleeing fascism. We must not allow this opportunity.

Pointing out that the common people of the country have fought and struggled for this election, he said that our general secretary, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, has talked about a fair election. Elections must be held, and they should be impartial—that’s the demand he has made.

He also stated that a normal, beautiful environment must be created in the country, keeping a goal in front of this generation and the people. The goal is to build a beautiful Bangladesh together. For that, we need a united effort.
