Lorry loaded with rods worth Tk 3.7 million hijacked

Khilkhet Police Station has arrested two robbers while snatching a 12.5 ton of rod load from Khilkhet in the capital. They were arrested on Wednesday (March 27th) last night on a 4-foot expressway adjacent to the Mastul Footover Bridge.
The arrested are Manik Mia (5) and Dulal Mia (5). The lorry with 12.5 tonnes of rod was recovered from their custody during the arrest. The estimated market value of the lorry burdened rods is more than Tk 1 lakh. Talibur Rahman said, the driver of the lorry. Parvez, 25, told the police of Khilkhet police station at midnight yesterday that the unidentified three or four robbers were beaten by the rod loads and carrying them on a 4-foot Narayanganj Expressway. The truck burned the rod from Chittagong Abul Khair Steel Mill, while Tongi Abul Khair was taken to the Steel Mill group depot at Kuril World Road.
Later, Khilkhet police station chased the robbers. Manik Mia and Dulal Mia were arrested among the robbers on a 5 -foot expressway adjacent to the Mastul Footover Bridge. At that time, two others escaped. A case has been filed against the two others, including the two others arrested in the incident.
