Metro rail services in the capital and intercity train operations across Bangladesh have resumed after the Eid holiday. Train services across the country resumed in the morning on Tuesday (April 1).
In a special announcement before Eid, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) stated on its verified Facebook page that metro rail operations would remain suspended only on Eid day in observance of Eid-ul-Fitr 2025. However, metro services would continue as usual on all other days.
Similarly, during a pre-Eid inter-ministerial meeting, Bangladesh Railway Director General (DG) Md Afzal Hossain announced that all intercity train services across the country would remain suspended on Eid day. The first train of the day, Parjatan Express, departed Dhaka Railway Station for Cox’s Bazar at 6:15 am this morning.
Meanwhile, the first metro rail trip of the day departed from Uttara North Station for Motijheel at 7:10 am, while the first train from Motijheel left for Uttara North Station at 7:30 am.
