College vice-principal murdered

The couple detained by the police have accused former vice-principal of Habibullah Bahar College Mohammad Saifur Rahman Bhuiyan of ‘objectionable behavior’.
Citing the initial interrogation of the detained couple, the police said on Wednesday that they were helpless at Kamalapur railway station after losing their bags with money. Both are under 25 years old. Seeing their helplessness, Mohammad Saifur Rahman Bhuiyan extended a helping hand. He promised to give them jobs at his house and took the two to a rented house in Uttarkhan. Despite promising them jobs, Saifur Rahman’s intention was to ‘behave offensively’ with the woman. Whenever he got the chance, Saifur Rahman would send her husband out and touch the sensitive parts of the young woman’s body.
Police said that last Sunday night, when Saifur Rahman tried to rape the young woman, her husband Nazim protested. This led to a scuffle between the two. At one stage, the two cut Saifur Rahman into pieces and ran away.
Police said the two arrested persons are Md. Nazim Hossain (21) and his wife Rupa Begum alias Jannati (23). They were arrested from the Faridpur Railway Station area on Tuesday.
