The famous Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish used to express the struggle, culture and desire for freedom of the Palestinian people with deep emotion in his poems. He wrote in his poem:
‘Today may be better than tomorrow,
Only the deaths are new today.
New children are born every day,
They fall asleep before they go to sleep, in death.
It is worthless to count them.’
For all parents, the hardest job in the world is to carry the body of their child. And this terrible job is done by the Palestinians every day. The main target of the Israeli attacks is mainly Palestinian children, teenagers and young people. The recent Israeli attack on Gaza is no exception. And for them, it is just an operation.
The reaction of the Western countries to this Israeli attack was the same as before. They always try to justify the attacks by supporting Israel. They are also reluctant to call for a ceasefire or peace. These countries often ignore human rights violations and want to perpetuate such a situation for their own political and strategic interests. As a result, efforts to establish peace in the Middle East are undermined and brutality continues to increase.
It is well known that when a nation is destroyed, its children are the first targets. However, it is clear to everyone how determined Palestinian women are to protect their children. The Palestinian women who carry the bodies of their children on their shoulders are giving birth to a brave and steadfast generation.
