A patient named Palash (30) died after jumping from the 15th floor of the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in the capital. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning. The matter was confirmed by Dr. Shaon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon of the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.
He said that the young man named Palash was admitted to the 601 Mail HDU with inhalation burns. The patient already had mental problems. He could not be found in the ward in the morning. After much searching, he was found dead on the road behind the Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute. It is believed that the patient died by jumping from the 15th floor.
Palash’s younger brother Alok Biswas said that on the 6th of this month, his airway was damaged in a fire at a garment washing plant and he was admitted to the National Burn Unit. After being treated in the ICU for 9 days, he was transferred to the HDU two days ago. Alok said that their home is in Shibpur village of Mohammadpur police station in Magura district. His father’s name is Jayant Kumar Biswas.
