Zahidur Rahim Anjan, the director of the film ‘Meghmallar’, has died (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). He was 60 years old. He died on Monday (February 24) night. National Film Award-winning cinematographer Mazharul Raju confirmed his death to the media.
It is known that Zahidur Rahim Anjan was suffering from a complex liver problem. He had been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bengaluru for a few months. This talented director died while undergoing treatment there.
In 2014, Anjan made the full-length film ‘Meghmallar’ based on the story ‘Raincoat’ by fiction writer Akhtaruzzaman Ilyas. He won the National Film Award for ‘Best Director’ and ‘Best Dialogue Writer’ in his first film. He last made ‘Chander Amavasya’ with government funding. Although the shooting was completed, he was unable to release the film due to the overall situation in the country and his own illness.
