The workers of the TNZ Group did not get their arrears and pay till Saturday. Labor Secretary AHM Safikuzzaman said after meeting with the factory workers and owners. The workers rejected it in the beginning, but later accepted the movement till April 7.
Meanwhile, the owners of the industrial police and garment factory said that the workers of the rest of the factories received half the salary and bonus of March. Until yesterday most factories have been holiday. Of course, TNZ workers demanded salary allowance in front of the labor building, which began on March 25.
Workers of the TNZ Group said at a press conference last Friday that the group’s three factories were closed. The 3 thousand 5 workers of these factories pay about Tk 1 crore. Last Thursday, a factory workers were given a portion of the payment. The director of the TNZ Group has said that the equipment will sell and pay Tk 2 crore. The meeting will be held again on April 7 after the Eid. He will be in custody of the law enforcement agencies until he is paying the workers’ salaries.
The workers rejected the secretary’s decision and after the meeting, the Labor Secretary blocked his car while leaving the labor building. Later, the secretary again said, ‘… no support is being provided from the bank right now. We from Bangladesh Bank … If the bank was open, we could create a special loan and arrange it … If we give a check today, that check cannot be cash in the bank. Because of this, we have arranged Tk 3 crore in cash. ”
