Protest demanding punishment for rapist

Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis has held a protest march demanding the punishment of the rapist in public and protesting the attack on the police in Shahbagh. After Friday prayers, the first short protest rally was held in front of the North Gate of the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. Then, the worshippers held a protest march in Paltan in the capital.
Law enforcement forces have surrounded the areas around Paltan and Baitul Mukarram with a security blanket around the protest march. At this time, the army, RAB, intelligence police and police members were seen taking positions.
Speakers at the rally said, no more Asians should die. Rapists should be punished publicly. Rapists should be hanged. It has been 55 years of independence but they could not make a single law of the Quran. The speakers also mentioned that the Shahbagis will not be allowed to stand with their heads held high. During the protest procession, they were seen chanting slogans such as ‘Hang, hang, hang the rapist’, ‘If there is a rope, don’t hang the rapist’, ‘There is no place for rapists, it will not be in Bangladesh’.
